Alma W. Thomas (1891-1978) created paintings that appear quite structured, but her individual brushstrokes reveal her spontaneity. Look closely to observe her working process, including vertical pencil lines and overlapping colors. Step back to observe the overall effect of color, pattern, and structure.
Granted, it’s intended for viewing in the gallery but I’m proud of it.
